Use your license manager to control the number of users who are able to use Cargo Office simultaneously.

License management

Concurrent licensing is a software licensing model based on a number of users accessing the program simultaneously. This model allows customers to purchase a number of licenses equal to the largest number of users likely to be active at a given time, rather than the total number of users in the environment

Cargo Office validates the number of assigned users by the number of connections to the common database. Each user starting the application claims one license. If the maximum number of connections exceeds the maximum number of purchased licenses the user is denied access to Cargo Office.

Sharing licenses across multiple installations

Cargo Office allows you to share a single company license to multiple databases. A company license for 10 users can easily be installed like the following scenario:

  • Two users are mainly working on a stand-alone laptop. Both users install Cargo Office and assign a single license (this permits the application to be launched one time).
  • The central server is installed with the eight licenses, allowing a maximum of eight users to access Cargo Office simultaneously.
The number of assigned licenses is maintained by the company administrator in the Cargo Office.



Updating license

You can view your license end date by opening the License date tab panel in the configuration window. Click the Update button to update the license date manually. Cargo Office will automatically try to update the license date 2 Weeks before the expiry date.

You can increase the number of licenses to allow more users to log on to the program as long as the total number of licenses does not exceed the number of concurrent licenses the user owns. Decrease the number to allow new installations.

The list with currently active users shows all users logged on to the network database. The user will be logged off automatically if he or she has been inactive for more than an hour.

Click on the Stop session button to terminate the session. The session will end and a new user will be allowed to log on.
