Margins
You can use custom sales margins to change your nett rates into gross rates which then will be ready to be sent to your customers.
You can manage the data of all your clients and add custom margin rules to each client or a group of clients.
With sales margins you can add a custom tariff to your net rates. Cargo Office supports two types of sales margins:
- A single valued margin (simple margin); and
- Margins rules specified by value, weight breaks and destination.
Applying margins to the rates influences the price calculation. The calculation takes into account the margin value, percentage and destination station specifications. The fuel and security fee are not affected by margins.
- Open the sales Margin rules window to add and modify advanced margin selections.
- The bottom part of the button opens the margin menu which allows you to apply a simple margin or select a custom margin.
The quick margin can either be applied as a fixed value or as a percentage added to the rate.
To apply a quick margin, open the margin menu by clicking the bottom part of the Sales margin button. In this menu you can enter a margin value and confirm this with ENTER. The new quick margin is immediately applied to your current results. The rates are recalculated and the margin value is added.
To emphasize the fact that you are viewing gross rates, the cells of the weight break columns will change to a blue text color.
To apply a custom margin, click the
Sales margin button. This will open the Sales margin rules window. In the Sales Margin window, the user can either select a client group or a single client. After selecting a group or client in the lower screen, the margins that apply to your selection are displayed. Click the
Apply button to close the window and recalculate the rates.
The selected margin rule is effective to all the rates in compliance with your specification. The rates effected by a margin rule have a blue text color. In the information window under the grid View a new tab panel is visible with all applied margin rules.
